After sell-out appearances at the Edinburgh Festival in 2013 and 2014, Will Pickvance is bringing his hit show ‘Anatomy of the Piano’ to Square Chapel arts centre, Halifax, on Saturday, May 2.
In the show he combines his expert piano-playing with witty repartee and engaging story-telling. ‘Anatomy of the Piano’, which has toured to Australia, the US, Italy and the Far East, tells the story of the instrument in words and music, interspersed with Will’s own tales about his life as a professional musician.
He talks about the time he jammed with The Eagles, directed music for Ashley Judd’s wedding, almost became a member of Leo Sayer’s backing band by accident and accompanied Robbie Williams in a rendition of ‘Angels’ at the singer’s surprise birthday party.
The show takes a journey through the heart and soul of the piano and incorporates elements of classical music, jazz, rock and pop with original songs and verse - and eccentric hand-drawn projections.
Will was the winner of the WINDOW Emerging Talent Award at the Brighton Fringe in 2014 and took his show to Australia last year to great acclaim.

The West Australian called him ‘as sharp an entertainer as you will see’.
The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £12/£10. For box office details tel: 01422 349422.
