Big names from Katherine Ryan to Marc Almond and top shows including Only Fools and Horses: The Musical herald a blockbuster new season at Leeds Grand Theatre.

Following major improvement work throughout the Summer including future-proofing the auditorium, Leeds Grand Theatre is set to re-open on Thu 5 September 2024. Leeds Heritage Theatres is Leeds Grand Theatre, City Varieties Music Hall and Hyde Park Picture House.

A registered charity, Leeds Heritage Theatres is united by a single cause; to bring people together, create the extraordinary and provide a positive environment in which to entertain and educate.

With essential planned maintenance work almost completed, Leeds Grand Theatre can’t wait to welcome the people of Leeds and surrounding areas back through the doors, showcasing the very best of musical theatre, opera, ballet, comedy and concerts.

Leeds Grand Theatre opens their new season with two weeks of show-stopping one-nighters, with side-splitting comedy from Mo GilliganKatherine Ryan and Adam Kay, to dazzling musical performances from legendary artists Elkie Brooks and Marc Almond.

From mid-September, Opera North’s Autumn season at The Grand begins, promising to inspire, amaze and entertain with opulent costumes, breath-taking set design and world-class opera. Whether it’s timeless classics The Magic Flute and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the hilarity, dancing and tongue-twisting singing of Ruddigore, or the family-friendly fun of The Big Opera Adventure – there truly is something for everyone.

November sees the return of our touring shows with DEAR EVAN HANSEN and & Juliet, while we round out the year with magical Christmas favourites Willy Russell’s Blood Brothers and Northern Ballet’s A Christmas Carol.

Stick a pony in your pocket – The Trotters are back and coming to The Grand! The smash-hit show Only Fools and Horses: The Musical, based on John Sullivan’s legendary television show, is a critically acclaimed, home-grown musical spectacular.

Calamity Jane: Tue 4 – Sat 8 Mar 2025

Gosh, almighty! Grab a posse because the whip-crackin’ musical comedy classic Calamity Jane is rollin’ on over the plains to The Grand. Based on the much-loved Doris Day movie, this plumb fancy new production stars Carrie Hope Fletcher (Cinderella, Les Misérables).

Northern Ballet’s Jane Eyre: Fri 14 – Sat 22 March 2025

When Jane accepts a position as Governess at Thornfield Hall, little does she expect a spark to kindle between her and the brooding Mr Rochester. With live music by Northern Ballet Sinfonia, Northern Ballet’s brilliant dance actors bring this tale of romance, jealousy and dark secrets to life.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat: Tue 25 – Sat 29 March 2025

The smash-hit London Palladium production by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber returns to Leeds Grand Theatre! It features much-loved pop and musical theatre classics, including Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door, There’s One More Angel in Heaven and Go, Go, Go Joseph.

LAOS: Les Misérables: Thu 3 – Sat 12 April 2025

Leeds Amateur Operatic Society returns to The Grand with one of the 11 UK amateur premières of this iconic musical. Featuring one of the most memorable scores of all time, Les Misérables is an epic tale of passion and redemption in the throes of revolution.

Bat Out Of Hell: Mon 21 – Sat 26 April 2025

Get ready for an electrifying experience that will ignite your passion for rock ‘n’ roll, where the timeless music of Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf reign supreme, including I’d Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That), Paradise By The Dashboard Light, Dead Ringer For Love and Bat Out of Hell.

Kinky Boots: Tue 25 – Sat 29 March 2025

Kinky Boots returns to Leeds Grand Theatre. After inheriting his family's failing shoe factory, life is proving to be very challenging for Charlie Price. That is, until he meets Lola. Starring TV dance sensation Johannes Radebe as Lola and rising star Dan Partridge as Charlie Price.

Pride & Prejudice* (*sort of): Mon 26 – Sat 31 May 2025

Pride & Prejudice* (*sort of) returns to Leeds Grand Theatre by public demand and is a unique and audacious retelling of Jane Austen’s most iconic love story. It’s the 1800s. It’s party time. Let the ruthless matchmaking begin.

Rocky Horror Show: Mon 2 – Sat 7 June 2025

Rocky Horror Show is the biggest party and features timeless classics, including Sweet TransvestiteDamn it Janet, and of course, the pelvic thrusting show-stopping Time Warp.

The Girl On The Train: Tue 1 – Sat 5 July 2025

Rachel Watson longs for a different life. Her only escape is the perfect couple she watches through the train window every day, happy and in love. Or so it appears. The Girl on the Train is a gripping thriller, coming to Leeds Grand Theatre in 2025.

SIX: Tue 28 May – Sat 1 June

The crowning glory of Broadway, the West End and beyond, the international smash-hit musical SIX makes its royal return to Leeds following three sell-out visits!

Derren Brown: Tue 22 – Sat 26 July 2025

Prepare to be astonished! The multi-award-winning master of mind control and psychological illusion, Derren Brown, returns to Leeds with Only Human. The show is still under wraps, but we can guarantee you a mind-blowing experience that’ll take your breath away!

War Horse: Tue 19 August – Sat 6 September 2025

Presented by The National Theatre, War Horse is based on the beloved novel by Michael Morpurgo. Featuring life-sized puppets of horses, War Horse takes audiences on a powerfully moving and extraordinary journey from rural Devon to the trenches of WW1 France.
