Dumbshow brings its new adaptation of John Steinbeck’s classic novella The Pearl to the Square Chapel, Halifax tonight as part of a nationwide tour – following a popular and critically-acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2013.

It is a timeless fable about the allure of wealth, the confines of class and the redemptive power of love and asks us to consider what we value most in the world. The Pearl is narrated by a chorus of beachcombers who construct the set and props from the sea’s washed-up debris and transform into all of the characters in the story. The show is performed tonight (Nov 21) at 8pm. Tickets are £13 and £11 and can be booked from Square Chapel on 01422 349 422.
