It’ll be all right with Annie

Halifax Light Opera Society

The Victoria Theatre, Halifax

Don’t miss this sparkling production of ‘Annie’ which had theatregoers smiling and humming as they left their seats on opening night.

When orphan Annie belts out ‘Tomorrow’ you know that everything is going to be all right. Isabella Foster, just 13, effortlessly carries the title role on her young shoulders. A cast of nearly forty local youngsters join her and the stage lights up when her fellow orphans sing ‘Hard Knock Life’. Cathryn Riley excels as the bitter, gin soaked but comic Miss Hannigan who runs the orphanage and her rendition of ‘Easy Street’ with Rooster (Ashley Davis) and his girlfriend, played by Rachel Rogers, had the audience in tears of laughter.

The show is directed by Steve Tetlow with choreography by Alexandra Townend and musical direction by Steve Muir.

Halifax Light Opera Society has produced a wonderful ‘feel good’ show. Take yourselves and your families before it closes on Saturday November 17. You won’t be disappointed.
