Two new one-act plays by Calderdale writer Alan Stockdill are on track to raise more than £2,500 for cancer charities.

The plays ‘Give a Little Love’ and ‘Godfrey’s Last Stand’ have been performed in Hebden Bridge and other towns in the north of England this summer and will be at Brighouse Arts Festival in September.

Staged by Talking Stock Productions, they won awards at the Partington Theatre One Act Play Festival in Glossop for Catherine Pasek and Maria Sykes (pictured). ‘Give a Little Love’ also took the best play award. Since the company was formed a year ago, more than £5,500 has been raised for charity including the NSPCC and Overgate Hospice.
