They will be travelling to Japan at the end of October and spending two weeks based at Hamada Children’s Museum of Art.

The pair will deliver workshop sessions to school children and their families and also share learning techniques from the UK.

Kelly and Tasha have taken inspiration from their local heritage to plan their sessions and will be using cloth, wool, weaving, fairies and light shadow work as themes during their workshops.

They will also use the works of Eric Carle, their favourite children’s author and illustrator, who wrote The Very Hungry Catterpillar.

Each year practitioners involved in children’s art education from all over the world are invited to Hamada to run these unique workshops for children and their families.

Kelly and Tasha will be joining a prestigious group, as in previous years instructors from France’s Musée des beaux-arts d’Orléans and Austria’s Zoom Kindermuseum led a variety of fun activities.
