"It is impossible to plan ahead with any degree of confidence whilst there remains the likelihood of drastically reduced audience capacity in our venue, due to social distancing requirements, alongside the possibility of a spike in infection rate or a local lockdown causing us to have to cancel at the last minute as we did in March 2020.

"While it is very disappointing for us all, it is only fair to our performers, our venue and suppliers, our volunteers and our loyal audiences that we avoid this situation by making a decision now, at the time when we would normally be beginning the preparatory work.

"We hope that by next summer we'll be able to announce dates for a Piano Festival in 2022."
