The event — hosted by Incredible Edible Todmorden (IET) — saw more than 250 members of the community mark the start of the autumn season by celebrating and learning about all things apples.
The morning session took place at Todmorden Community College, where a number of activities took place.
One IET member hosted an apple and chilli hot sauce-making session, while other members led fun crafts, including making bird feeders with windfall apples, creating banners, and decorating bunting.
Local community orchard expert Karl Roscoe shared advice on growing and caring for apple trees and getting the best out of harvests.
The afternoon session took place at Whole Foods Cafe, where a member from the Folklore Centre led a session on the folklore of apples, and local artist Alice Pike led a children’s craft and storytelling session, with music and sound effects from Daniel Capon.
Lastly, a cider session was hosted at Nan Moor’s with cider expert Phil Kennedy.
