Turtle’s Tale on the Rex screen for National Schools Film Week

A national film festival is returning to Elland next Tuesday.

Four Calderdale schools – Field Lane Primary School, Siddal Primary School, Old Earth Primary School and West Vale Primary School – will visit the Rex cinema.

They will watch A Turtle’s Tale: Sammy’s Adventures.

Nick Walker, festival director for National Schools Film week, said: “Our hope is for teachers and students to feel massively engaged in the festival. It is an incredible opportunity not only to build the adventurous, film-loving audience of the future but also to develop the kinds of passion in young people more likely to make them more receptive to this art form. This is achieved through on-line resources, which give teachers the tools to encourage students to explore and understand new cinematic worlds.”
