Taxi drivers in Halifax suspended and handed reported for traffic offences during police operation

On Thursday August 13 Calderdale Neighbourhood Policing Team worked together with taxi licencing to tackle traffic offences and taxi checks on Shay Lane in Halifax.
In total 15 drivers were reported for traffic offences including using a mobile phone and numerous seatbelt offences.

Hide AdTaxi licensing gave two taxis an immediate prohibition preventing them from operating as a private hire vehicle with a number of other taxis were given works to be completed for the safety of passengers and upkeep of their vehicles.
A spokesperson for the NPT said: "We will continue to work independently and with other agencies to apprehend those individuals who feel that road traffic law does not apply to them.
"Calderdale neighbourhood policing team are regularly tackling the fatal four traffic offences – Speeding, Seatbelts, Drink and Drug driving, and the use of mobile phones whilst driving."
