Fire ravaged Ovenden Hotel to be demolished for housing development
Planning officers at Calderdale Council have approved outline plans for the development.
In the application submitted by lark Architects Ltd on behalf of Cornertrack Ltd the plans will be to build 21 two-storey houses with a mixture of two and three bedroom properties.

Hide AdPlanning officers at the Council said the site, located at the junction of Ovenden Way, Denfield Lane, Cousin Lane and Nursery Lane,.is currently an eyesore and is in a poor state of repair.
"As part of the application the existing semi derelict building, the former Ovenden Way Hotel, will be demolished," said the report.
"The majority of the roof has been damaged by fire and therefore demolition is unlikely to have any effect on protected species.
"Any possible effects of dust as a result of demolition can be dealt with by dust management measures.

Hide Ad"The demolition and redevelopment of the site would remove the existing building which has become an eyesore."
The report also states that 21 dwellings could be accommodated on the site without causing detriment to amenities currently enjoyed neighbouring residential properties.
