Head reacts to primary school '˜drugs' concerns
The alarm was raised on Friday afternoon at Holywell Green Primary School.
One parent claimed a bag of drugs was brought into the school on Stainland Road by a child.

Hide AdWest Yorkshire Police has not said what was in the tablets and the children were taken to hospital as a precaution, but were discharged later that day.
Concerns have since been raised that parents were not told about the incident on the day.
In a letter seen by the Courier, head teacher Paul McVeigh, says: “As you may be aware an incident took place at school on Friday afternoon.
All safegarding procedures were immediately undertaken to safeguard all the children which resulted in the involvement of the ambulance service, social service and the police.

Hide Ad“The children attended hospital and were released safe and well in the afternoon.
“This is a highly unusual and isolated event and as you will appreciate in a matter of sensitivity, we wante to write and reassure you that all appropriate actions were taken by all the staff.
“On the advice of police, we were unable to inform parents late on Friday and as there is an ongoing police investigation we cannot provide further details at this time.
“The teachers will be speaking to the children today, reassuring them and emphasising the the importance of not touching or eating any substance that is unknown to them.”
Two women were arrested in connection with the incident and bailed pending further enquiries.
