Games galore as Calderdale charity teams up national firm

Charity, Our Place, which is based at coordinator Melanie Rumble's home, has teamed up with Zatu Games as part of the Dementia UK campaign Raise the Game Event.
The campaign highlights of issues around people suffering from dementia within the UK over the festive period.

Hide AdMs Rumble said: "We wanted to be a part of Raise Your Game for Dementia, and contacted them to see how we could take part.
"They connected us with Zatu Games, who donated a huge bundle of games for us to use and send out in our support packs we have been sending to people in need in our community.
"We have so far sent out over 1300 packs, these have gone out every week since March and bring joy to everyone who receives them, the games from Zatu will provide much needed entertainment and we can't thank them enough."
Zatu Games put together a large board game bundle including Scrabble, Monopoly, playing cards and a range of jigsaw puzzles for people to enjoy.

Hide AdDuring the last eight months, Our Place has been providing support packs for people who have been shielding in the local area. The packs include puzzles, mental health tips, magazines, colouring books, and tasty snacks. Now, thanks to Zatu Games, festive packs will include board games too.
The team behind Our Place have been recognised as Community Champions for their efforts in supporting the local community. They have also picked up a nomination for the Community Spirit Awards.
A spokeswoman from Zatu Games said: “We try to help as many charities as we can.

Zatu Games have previously donated board games to libraries as part of an initiative to tackle loneliness and mental health issues.
They also run a hospital initiative, which uses customer donations to provide board games and toys to children’s wards and hospices around the UK.
