Halifax feline stars as Mr September in national charity calendar
Photogenic Edmund was chosen to feature in Cats Protection’s 2021 calendar, which showcases cats adopted through the charity’s UK-wide adoption centres and volunteer-run branches.
Edmund was one of three kittens abandoned by their mother at just a week old, who were luckily found and taken in to the care of Cats Protection.

She had originally planned on adopting one of them but soon realised she could not pick between Piri, Paul and Edmund, who was named after the explorer Sir Edmund Hilary because of his fondness for climbing.
Gail said: “A few days turned into weeks and although I considered adopting just one, I couldn’t choose, so all three became a permanent part of my family.
“Edmund is a calm, cuddly boy who loves nose to nose snuggling and a shoulder ride around the house.”

Where COVID-19 guidelines allow, it can also be bought from the charity’s chain of retail shops.
The calendar helps the charity to raise much-needed funds for cats and kittens who are looking for new homes.
Fundraising has been a significant casualty of the pandemic and Cats Protection is only able to continue its work thanks to the financial generosity of its supporters.
