Salon fundraiser pulls in £4,000 for blood cancer charity
Organised by Brett’s Hairdressing, the event was held at Lightcliffe Golf Club for Bloodwise, a charity geared towards research into leukaemia and lymphoma.
Owner of the Ing Head Terrace salon, Joanna Moss, wanted to organise the day after her best friend’s husband, Simon Oddy, passed away from lymphoma in May, aged 48.

“Everyone got involved along with Simon’s family and we’re absolutely thrilled and never thought we’d make that much money.”
The golf club donated the room where stalls were set up by local businesses, and a host of prizes were donated for a raffle.
“We were unsure how things would go, but on the day we were blown away with the attendance and a good day was had by all,” Joanna added.
