Curzon Ashton 4-2 FC Halifax Town: Fans Panel verdict
Rob Brown
Man of the match
Jake Hibbs, did nothing wrong all afternoon.
Moment of the match
37th minute. A great save by the Curzon goalkeeper from a Tom Denton header, could have been a goal up. Eight minutes later we’re two down.
Moan of the match
Forget the fact we didn’t score in the last few minutes against eight men. Conceding four goals is the real reason we lost. It can’t be all bad luck.

Hide AdDavid Lynch. Did a good tackling stint in midfield. Just a shame that the back line behind him was completely out of sorts.
Moment of the match
The usually reliable Tom Denton missed two fairly easy headers. Even though we shipped goals for fun, we didn’t take our chances when they presented themselves. Hardly surprising we lost.
Moan of the match
Curzon’s third goal, at a time they were down to ten men. Our defence was outpaced by some distance, and Steve Drench was beaten far too easily.
Adam Heslop
Man of the match
This was a hard decision for all the wrong reasons this week but I’ll give it to Kevin Roberts because among all the chaos he never gave up or lost the plot!

Hide AdWhen all was looking bleak Cliff Moyo gave a glimmer of light with a great goal, even if it did only last a few minutes.
Moan of the match
As much as I rate Josh Macdonald as a player, he really needs to make more effort to stay on his feet. He goes down far too easily, this will make some of the ref’s decisions harder if he gets a reputation as a diver.
Andrew Mann
Man of the match
David Lynch, best of a bad bunch, worked hard as usual whilst on.
Moment of the match
Cliff Moyo’s first goal for Town that (briefly) gave us hope of getting back into the game.
Moan of the match
The fact that even as more and more Ashton players were sent off, a side who hadn’t won at home all season, we still couldn’t break them down. A shadow of recent performances.
