FC Halifax Town: Wild targeting a couple of additions as Danns departs
The departure of Neil Danns, announced last night (Tuesday), means there is a little more wriggle room in Wild’s budget.
The Town boss is due to speak to Hull today (Wednesday) about the possibility of extending forward Billy Chadwick’s loan, which expires after Saturday’s FA Trophy clash against Southport at The Shay.

“But we’ve got a really good core group of players, it just needs a sprinkling and we’re hopeful in the next two to three weeks that we’ll be able to do that.”
On the departure of Danns, who made five appearances for Town, Wild said: “We’ve looked at where we need to strengthen as a team and we felt that having four holding midfielders wasn’t necessary, we’re committed long-term to Kieran Green, so we felt it was better that we pushed on with three holding midfielders and we try to strengthen in other areas.
“One thing I will say is that Dannsy might not have got the game-time that we both hoped he would, but off-the-pitch he’s been fantastic, on the training ground, in the dressing room, especially with our younger players.
“He’s brought so much to us off-the-pitch and we really thank him for everything he’s brought to us because he’s been excellent in and around the club.”
