West End triumphant for second season in succession
“The foundations for winning the league were laid with two early 8-0 victories which gave us good momentum to take into the other fixtures,” said team captain Roger Greenwood.
Despite leading the league for the majority of the season, a big defeat away to local rivals Halifax GC set up a nervous end to the season for West End.

Hide AdThey signed off with a 6 - 2 win against Woodsome Hall and then waited helplessly to see whether Crow Nest were going to snatch the crown from their grasp. To their relief, Crow Nest lost their final match, and Greenwood commented: “It’s been a pleasure to captain the side and have such strength in depth to pick from.”
