Local runners tackle marathons
First home for the club in Manchester was David Johnson (3:22:21), followed by Simon Lea (3:35:09) and Margaret Deacon (3:56:31).
Marc Rocheteau ran 3:47:21 and John Moore 4:33:23 in Paris. and Hanni Maeer completed the Rome marathon in 4:23:53 in warm temperatures.

Hide AdThe international theme was continued by Steven Rainbow, who ran in the Berlin half marathon. He finished in 1:26:38.
Closer to home April Caufield and Will Stewart ran the Sheffield half marathon in 1:34:24 and 1:35:25 respectively.
David Nutton (1:56:12), Andrea Ackroyd (2:08:52) and Sally Shacklock (2:19:20) ran in the Baildon Boundary Way half marathon .
It was A Tale of Two Cities for Stainland Lions, who had runners at the Paris and Manchester marathons.

Hide AdNine Lions took part across the Channel in extremely warm conditions, urged on by their support crew, and were led home by Tim Walker.
Many of the Paris squad took part in the Montsouris parkrun the day before and the amazing Bernadette Rowland set a new women’s over 80 club record time of 40:15 for the 5k course.
Ed Hyland led the Lions home in the biggest ever Manchester Marathon field.

Stainland’s Mags Beever continued her excellent season, finishing first lady at the Baildon Boundary Way Trail Half Marathon. Lucy Collins, making her return to racing after a lay off, was hot on her heels, finishing third female.

Hide AdThe rapidly improving Michelle “Rocket” Rogerson finished in 1:46:00, just ahead of partner Ian Hoskins in 1:47:27.
Two members of Sowerby Bridge Snails, Amanda Aveyard and Danielle Whitworth, completed the Manchester Marathon in just over five hours.
Cheered on by fellow Snails, they finished in 5:05:58. Aveyard celebrated with an ice bath and said: “It was amazing and, dare I say, I enjoyed it?”
FOUR Northowram Pumas runners tackled the Manchester Marathon last weekend.

Hide AdTim Brook led them home in 3:01:15, followed by Andy Haslam in 3:34:42, Andy Barnes in 3:35:03 and Matt Newton in 4:22:30
Pumas’ Diane Cooper and Peter Reason finished the Sheffield Half Marathon in 1:37:55 and 1:42:55 respectively.
