Organised by the Rotary Club of Halifax, with permission from Yorkshire Water and the land owner, it is hoped the fountain will reach a height of more than 100 feet. Last year’s event and fundraiser was attended by almost 1,000 people.

Sherri Highley-Hammond, one of the organisers, said: “The format is similar to that of the last three years. A picturesque walk, two-and-a-half miles each way will commence from the Cat I’th Well Inn at 12.00pm prompt.

“The estate will be open from noon until 3pm. Suitable footwear should be worn as parts of the walk are wet and muddy and uneven and last year a number of walkers finished up with wet feet.”

The fountain itself will play from 2pm for just over 15 minutes. Free car parking will be also be available in a nearby field, weather permitting.

Limited access is available for disabled drivers, who approach the estate from the top gate. Following the event, The Cat I’th Well, Wainstalls, is having a Hog Roast with live music and The Crossroads, also in Wainstalls, serves a range of pub food.

This is ticket only event. They cost £5 and can be purchased from the two pubs, Woodlesford News, Mount Tabor, and Harveys of Halifax (third floor customer services).

Tickets for two adults and up to three children are available for £15. Children under five go free.
