The former Maine Street and Liquid club on Commercial Street, which recently closed its doors for a half a million pound revamp, will return next weekend as ATIK and will feature four distinct rooms.

Peter Marks, chief executive of leisure group Deltic, which owns the club, said: “The only way a town will get busy is investment.

“What we hope is that other people will come along and spend money and make Halifax a stronger offer to keep people coming back into the town centre.”

General manager Adrian Broadhead said: “We’re really looking forward to transforming the place and reopening as ATIK to deliver a fantastic venue.

“We’ve had a number of celebrities through the doors over the years – from Olly Murs to Karen Harding – so it made sense to re-open with a strong line up with Alex Bowen and a DJ set from Mark Wright. We’re going to put on a party to remember.”

Mr Marks has two clubs opening on the same evening but has opted to come to Halifax. ATIK will open Friday October 28.
