Connie's marathon challenge raises more than £1,000 for Cancer Research UK

Last month, Connie Halstead decided to run, walk and cycle the equivalent of a marathon, 26.2 miles.

She initially wanted to raise £300 but in the end her efforts raised £1,160 for the cause.

Connie’s grandparents, Kath and Kevin, have both suffered from cancer, enduring operations, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Both are avid fund raisers for Cancer Research UK Todmorden committee, inspiring Connie to take on her challenge.

A spokesperson from Cancer Research Todmorden said: “We think Connie is a little superstar and she should be really proud of herself.”
