They have suffered a poor pre-season so far, losing 2-0 at Barrow and 4-1 at Stalybridge, while drawing 1-1 at Skelmersdale.

Former Town midfielder Matty Pearson and ex-Halifax loanee Marcus Carver are among the ranks at Accrington, who have broken their season ticket sales record for the forthcoming campaign.

Danny Hone is expected to have recovered from his ankle injury in time to feature against Accrington.

Josh Wilde came off in the first-half at Matlock after getting a kick in the back, but it is hoped that won’t be a serious injury.

Jordan Sinnott (ankle) and Josh Macdonald (dead leg) both missed training on Thursday, with Sinnott a doubt for the weekend.
