FC Halifax Town to be given civic reception

A civic reception will be held for FC Halifax Town at The Shay following their FA Trophy win at Wembley last weekend.

Town beat Grimsby 1-0 at Wembley on Sunday, an achievement that will be celebrated at The Shay on June 16 at 6pm with Mayor of Calderdale Howard Blagbrough.

Members of the winning squad will also be at the event, while visitors can get their photo taken with the FA Trophy itself.

Mayor of Calderdale, Coun Howard Blagbrough, said: “I was absolutely delighted and over the moon to hear of the wonderful score on Sunday – I know personal friends who were certainly celebrating that evening.

“This was a well deserved win and a boost for the team as they face the challenges of the next season. I would like to wish Halifax Town all the very best and pass on my congratulations on behalf of all supporters in Calderdale”.
