Jordan Burrow’s first-half opener was cancelled out by a freak Greg Pearson equaliser late on when his long ball forward looped over stranded keeper Steve Drench.

Heath insisted his team should have had the game won by then after squandering several good chances.

He said: “We looked a bit tired. It had been a difficult week and it was our third game in seven days.

“The training session on the Thursday was a big running session and we played Frickley on a difficult pitch, it was very, very long.

“But it was another good run-out.

“We created a lot of chances but didn’t take them.

“We should have won the game comfortably.

“It wasn’t a great game but it was a good exercise for us.”

On the freak nature of Frickley’s equaliser, Heath joked: “It will be good for the Goals and Gaffes 2016 DVD!

“He just misjudged it and slipped underneath it.

“But after that he made a couple of great saves.

“He’s experienced enough to know that these things happen. It’s not the first time a keeper’s got caught out by that pitch.

“We should have been out of sight long before then though with the chances we had.”
