FC Halifax Town have completed the signing of defender Jamie Stott from Stockport County.

The 24-year-old left-sided centre-back started his career at Oldham Athletic, and after loan spells at Curzon, Fylde and Stockport, joined the latter permanently after three separate loan spells at Edgeley Park, where he was named young player of the year and helped them to promotion.

He spent last season on loan at National League North side AFC Fylde, helping them reach the play-offs.

Stott is Town's third summer signing after Jack Hunter and Sam Smart.
