Calderdale on TV once again, this time thanks to Gavin and Stacey star
Calderdale will again be on screens up and down the country thanks to a new TV show.
Shift the Thrift sees Gavin and Stacey star Joanna Page giving contestants the challenge of transforming charity shop finds into cash for good causes.
And one of the places featured in the series is Hebden Bridge.
The Courier reported in October how Joanna had been spotted in the popular tourist town while filming for the show.
Each episode begins in a different UK town, where Joanna and two guest experts explore the local charity shop scene.
The Hebden Bridge episode – available now on BBC iPlayer – sees several of the town’s charity shops featured.
They include the RSPCA shop, Forget Me Not Hospice’s shop, the Calder Community Kindess store and Overgate Hospice’s shop, which has posted that the Hebden Bridge episode will air on Wednesday, April 22.
