Channel 4 Christmas special to be based on Halifax treat Quality Street
A Channel 4 show's Christmas special will centre all around the Halifax created chocolates Quality Street.
Snackmasters is a culinary challenge show hosted by Fred Sirieix.
The one-hour festive special will see host Fred pit a top chocolatier against a virtuoso pastry chef to replicate one of the nation’s most-loved festive choc brands - Quality Street.
A description of the episode states: "As ever, the chefs must work out the secret techniques and recipes behind these household favourites before creating their own replicas to be judged by a panel of Quality Street insiders and experts.
"So what choctastic task awaits our gourmet pâtissiers: the green triangle, the orange chocolate crunch, the strawberry delight or will it be the iconic Purple One?"
Quality Street was created back in the 1930s by Mackintosh's in Halifax and named after the J. M. Barrie play of the same name.
The iconic chocolate selection is still produced in the town today at the Nestle factory on Bailey Hall Road.
