Filming in Halifax: TV crew spotted filming at house in quiet Halifax street today

Another film crew have been spotted in Halifax today.

The crew were seen in quiet and leafy Stafford Avenue, between Skircoat Green Road and Huddersfield Road in Skircoat Green, earlier this evening.

And the Courier understands they will be there all day tomorrow too.

It is thought they are filming for a new CBBC show called ‘Can Can Hoop’.

As well as filming at a house on Stafford Avenue, they have designated parking and dining areas on nearby streets also off Huddersfield Road.

It was only a few weeks ago that Halifax pub The Big Six in Savile Park was the chosen location for another film crew.

They were filming movie The Choral – an Alan Bennett original screenplay, his first for 40 years - directed by 'Lady In The Van' and 'The Madness of King George' director Sir Nicholas Hytner and starring Ralph Fiennes, of Harry Potter, Schindler’s List and Spectre fame.

Sally Wainwright is also expected to be returning to Calderdale soon to film her latest project, a comedy series called Riot Women.

The much-anticipated series follows a group of menopausal women who form a punk rock band.

"They're angry and they're going to sing about being angry and being of a certain age and all the stuff that goes with being of a certain age and having to go through the menopause at the same time," Sally told the Courier earlier this year.
