Pieces by James Fearon and Lisa Slater were included in the ‘A Room of One’s Own’ Virginnia Woolf Art Life and Vision London exhibition after the artists won a competition to have their work submitted.

More than 170 pieces were entered into the online competition and James’ entry of himself in his Northlight studio, Hebden Bridge, photographed by Lisa, was the overall winner.

He won a set of Virginna Woolf books.

Mr Fearon, a former Royal College of Art London student and ward councillor for West End, said: “Lisa’s a great portrait photographer and makes her sitter feel very at ease. The image was selected I think because the studio was small, but packed with colourful stuff-big and small which were vying for the viewer’s attention. I am delighted to have won the competition and I’ll now have to clean up my studio, sometime soon - off course after I have read the set of Virginna Woolf Books!”

A photograph of Lisa in her Northlight Studio, Hebden Bridge, was also included in the exhibition.

She said: “Photographing James was very spontaneous so I am delighted it won against all the many entries.”
