The Magna Carta story

TV presenter and renowned historian Dr David Starkey returns to the Victoria Theatre, Halifax, tonight (Friday) to discuss the significance of one of the most important documents in history - the Magna Carta.

He will look at the historical importance of the 13th century agreement which, for the first time, limited the powers of the monarchy by setting down the basic rights, privileges and liberties of leading citizens and clergy.

Tickets are still available for the fascinating show in which Dr Starkey will look at the legacy of the Magna Carta and assess the British constitution as it stands today.
