Lynn Rusk is a news and video reporter for LondonWorld. She has been working for the site since its launch in September 2021 and since then has reported on a wide range of topics, from human rights issues to London’s transport network to the capital’s bustling culture scene. Lynn also frequently covers issues relating to asylum seekers and immigration, police misconduct and violence against women and girls. Lynn can often be found at the picket lines covering the mass strike action currently sweeping the country or attending one of the many protests outside Downing Street. She is most proud of her coverage of the campaign to free Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe and Anoosheh Ashoori and was present at Westminster for Nazanin’s first press conference after her arrival back to London. Since then she has remained committed to covering stories of Brits detained abroad, including Morad Tahbaz and Mehran Raoof who remain detained in Iran and Alaa Abd El-Fattah, Egypt’s most famous political prisoner. Before becoming a journalist Lynn worked as a primary school teacher for several years in Edinburgh and London. Along with her work for LondonWorld she has written for the Irish Times, the Skinny magazine, Metro Opinion and the Scotsman.
