Family business from Halifax celebrates important milestone as it moves into new premises
A family business that started out with its team working from four converted shipping containers in a Halifax forest has moved into a new headquarters following a whirlwind first year.
Motorhome Pig has moved its now 21 local employees into larger premises on West Lane in Halifax, giving the business room to continue recruiting.

Founded by father and son Gary and Lewis Cheetham, the business only began trading in September 2025 but has grown at pace.
Since February, the number of motorhomes advertised through Motorhome Pig has increased more than fourfold, from 131 to more than 770, while the business has facilitated £10.2 million in motorhome sales in 180 days.
The business has built a 21-person team based in and around the town, with 12 employees across sales and customer service aged under 25, while much of the technology behind its approach has been built in-house.
Until recently, all of that was happening from four shipping containers in a forest, each accommodating just two or three people.
The new premises include four office rooms with space for at least six people in each, dedicated areas for the company’s sales and onboarding teams and a staff break area.
Gary Cheetham said: “The pace of growth over the last few months has been incredible. We’ve gone from operating across four shipping containers, with two or three people in each, to a 21-person team serving customers right across the UK, so moving into a space that can properly support that growth was an important next step for us.
“The containers are a great part of the Motorhome Pig story and they remind us how quickly things have moved, but we had reached the limit of what we could realistically do from them. The new premises give our sales and onboarding teams dedicated space, improve the environment for people speaking to customers all day and, importantly, give us capacity to continue creating jobs locally as the business grows.
“What we don’t want to change is the culture behind that growth. There’s a real sense of ownership across the team and a willingness to challenge how things have traditionally been done, which I think is a big part of why Motorhome Pig has progressed so quickly.
“We’re becoming a much more established business, but we can still have a neon ‘bringing home the bacon’ sign in the window. That balance probably sums us up quite well – we’re serious about what we’re building, without taking ourselves too seriously.”
Gary says the company is proud of its Halifax roots.
“What makes us particularly proud is that we’re doing it from Halifax. As the business has grown nationally, we’ve been able to create jobs here and give younger people from a range of backgrounds an opportunity to build careers with us,” he added.
“We’ve already seen people join without traditional motor-industry experience and become some of our strongest performers. We look for attitude, potential and people who want to be part of what we’re building – and as Motorhome Pig grows, we want to create more of those opportunities locally.
“There’s a huge amount for everyone here to be proud of. Less than a year ago this was a father-and-son business with a small team working from shipping containers. Today there are 21 local people helping customers across the country and technology being developed here in Halifax that is doing things differently in our industry.
“But we still have that underdog mentality and I hope we always will.
“We’re proud to be from Halifax, we’re ambitious about where Motorhome Pig can go, and we want the people who join us along the way to feel they’re genuinely part of building it.
“The new premises are a big milestone for us.”
