Nominate your favourite Brighouse business for a chance to win £500 to spend locally

Help Us Find The UK’s Favourite Local Business launched on December 1 and runs through to December 21. Any local business can be nominated, with the business receiving the most votes being crowned as the UK’s favourite.

The competition follows on from the launch of the Brighouse Gift Card in November, introduced by Brighouse BID to drive footfall and local spend in Brighouse. The gift card can be spent in dozens of retail, leisure and hospitality venues across the town. Cards can be bought online at www.brighousegiftcard.co.uk or from the BID office on Bradford Road.

The business crowned as the UK’s favourite business in December 2022, and the person who nominated them, will receive £500 of gift cards for one of the 80 plus Town & City Gift Card programmes in the UK and Ireland, such as the Brighouse Gift Card.

Helen Holdsworth, project manager for Brighouse BID, who are behind the scheme, said there’s something for all ages on the gift card: “We introduced the Brighouse Gift Card to showcase the vibrant range of distinctive businesses we have here in Brighouse. The town is friendly, welcoming and thriving and that is largely down to our hard-working businesses and the staff that work in them. From coffee shops and cafés to salons and retailers, please take a few minutes to vote for your favourite local business in Brighouse, writing a few words about what makes them special.

“I’d love to see lots of nominations for Brighouse businesses in the competition, and maybe even a Brighouse business receiving the honour of being named as the UK’s Favourite Local Business. This is our chance to shine a light on local in our town.

“Any local business can be nominated in the competition, whether they’re part of the Brighouse Gift Card or not. However, there is still time for businesses in town to sign up to accept the gift card. It works through the Mastercard system with no additional equipment required, with no additional costs to accept it. It’s also a route to new customers and increased sales and footfall.”
