and live on Freeview channel 276
The Brighouse 1940s Weekend has become a beloved tradition, attracting thousands of attendees each year with its vibrant celebrations. Returning on the 1st and 2nd June with live music, entertainment, vintage stalls, and themed activities throughout the town centre, the event promises fun for all ages.
As a company that supports older adults in their own homes, Home Instead recognises the profound benefits that community involvement has on mental health and wellbeing. With a focus on providing specialised care for those living with dementia, the company’s care professionals regularly see the challenges that people with the condition, and their families, face. The team is thrilled to support this vibrant event celebrating the 1940s; a decade known for its iconic music, fashion, and sense of community.

As part of their involvement, Home Instead will host a stall at the event, where attendees can learn more about their home care services and participate in fundraising activities for Home Instead Charities, a national charity which works to prevent loneliness and isolation in ageing adults. Additionally, the company will distribute their popular ‘What's On Where’ (WOW) guide, providing details of over 180 listings including social groups, exercise classes, hobby & special interest groups and support groups for older adults in Halifax, Brighouse, Hebden Bridge, Todmorden and Sowerby Bridge.
In support of the event's theme, dressing up in 1940s attire is encouraged, with a best-dressed competition adding to the festive atmosphere. With over 90 stalls offering a variety of crafts, food, and themed items, the weekend promises to be a memorable experience for all who attend.
Julie added: "We look forward to engaging with attendees and embracing the lively atmosphere of this special weekend. It's a wonderful opportunity to connect with the community, celebrate the rich history of the 1940s, and showcase our commitment to supporting older adults and their families."
