Scout Road Academy welcomes a new Principal
The Trustees at Scout Road Academy, Mytholmroyd has announced the appointment of Gina Blagbrough as their new Principal.
Mrs Blagbrough has worked at the school for fifteen years, six as Assistant Principal, and most recently as Acting Principal following the previous Headteacher’s retirement last summer.
Chair of the Trustees, Rachel Harling, said: "During her term as Acting Principal Mrs Blagbrough has proven herself to be a highly capable and effective leader, rising to the challenges of the current pandemic with positivity and dedication.
"Throughout, she has demonstrated her unwavering commitment to providing the best possible education for all children and the Trustees are confident she has the skills and experience necessary to ensure the continued development and success of our school".
Mrs Blagbrough said: “I feel incredibly privileged to be leading Scout Road Academy, building upon its many strengths, and I consider myself fortunate to be supported by an exceptionally dedicated and skilled team of staff.
"The past year has been challenging for everyone, but I have been overwhelmed by the resilience and positivity of the whole school community. It was wonderful to welcome all children back to school on Monday and there are some exciting new changes on the horizon for everyone to look forward to, including a redesigned playground, revamped sports facilities and an updated library.
“I believe passionately that children need a secure foundation from which to grow, flourish and achieve the very best they can.
"I am looking forward to leading Scout Road Academy in continuing to provide children with a first-class education, and nurturing the development of every child’s abilities, whatever they may be.”
