High street pharmacies to deliver NHS Covid jabs

Coronavirus jabs will begin to be delivered at high street pharmacies from today (Thursday) as the NHS accelerates the biggest vaccination programme in its history.

Boots, Superdrug and several independent stores will be the first of hundreds of community phramacies to offer Covid vaccinations.

200 community pharmacies re due to come online ver the next fortnight as more vaccine supplies come on stream by the end of the month.

Stores capable of delivering large volumes hile allowing for social distancing are initially being selected to give the best geographical spread.

The Boots store in Halifax town centre has today (Thursday) become the pharamcy’s first Covid testing centre.

JPIMedia publications across England are calling on the Government to let all pharmacies play a part in the UK’s Covid-19 vaccination programme.
