Once submitted, the planning applications will be subject to further public and stakeholder consultation prior to being determined by Calderdale and Kirklees Councils within their respective statutory determination time periods.

What are the other key dates?

Subject to approval of planning applications construction of the new car park at Calderdale Royal will start in 2022. It is hoped the project will be finished in 2023 when work will also start on the new hospital building at CRH. The building is expected to be completed in 2025

The Trust said it will continue to provide existing A&E services at both CRH and HRI, with both sites remaining fully operational during the construction phase.

There are currently 809 car parking spaces on-site at CRH, used by patients, visitors and staff. The proposals will create an extra 400 extra car parking spaces.
