Explore more of Calderdale's history with Heritage Open Days

The event will run up to and including September 20 and will see many historic and cultural locations throw open their doors to celebrate their heritage for free.

Here are the events taking place in Calderdale this year.

When visiting these locations please make sure to follow social distancing guidelines and requests made by the venues, for example the wearing of face masks.

Guided walks around Halifax: September 10-13 at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm. Groups of six. Meet at Halifax Town Hall.

Vintage Bus Tours: September 11-12 at 10.30am and 2pm. Groups of 10, Meet at Halifax Minster. Booking is essential and numbers limited due to the current situation. Contact [email protected] or 07932 101395.

Halifax Minster (open daily 12pm-4pm): Tours of the Minster on September 11-12 at 2pm. Church Yard Tours on September 11 at 10.30am, 1pm and 2pm. September 12 at 2pm. Heritage Festival Organ Recital on September 17 at 2pm. Anne Lister Tours on September 19-20 at 2pm. Calderdale Industrial Museum: Open September 11-12, 10am -3pm.

Piece Hall: September 10, 10am-10pm, September 11-12, 10am to midnight, September 13, 10am-8pm.

Christ Church Sowerby Bridge: Churchyard is open on September 12 from 10am-4pm.

St Peter’s Church, Sowerby: September 12-13, open from 12pm-4pm

St Stephen’s Church, Copley: September 13 and 20 from 12pm-3pm.

All Souls Church, Halifax: History trail with self guided walks following online clues from September 11.
