Calderdale's Pub of the Year to receive its award at last
At their last branch meeting in March, members of CAMRA Halifax and Calderdale voted to present their most prestigious individual award to one of the best local micropubs.
The Market Tavern in Brighouse was chosen as the branch’s 2020 Pub of the Year (POTY).

Richard said: “It is disappointing that we cannot make the usual formal presentation with local CAMRA members in attendance, as well as pub locals and occasional visitors.
"However, the pub should have had its certificate at least three months ago, so it is long overdue.
"As branch Chair, I made the decision that, whilst it cannot be an official CAMRA event, it was important to hand over the framed certificate personally to the pub.

"Hopefully at some time, before the end of the year, we will be able to arrange a branch social meeting at the pub to celebrate the award.”
