The event, held on Sunday at the club’s base at Bailiff Bridge playing fields on Bradford Road, saw lots of families attend to take part in a variety of activities.

Katrina Asquith, one of the organisers, said: “A lot of existing players signed up and some new players too.

“It was a good day for the club and a good day for the families.

“We are looking forward to the season ahead.”

The club, which has both boys’ and girls’ teams from ages three to 18, has been established for more than 30 years.

It currently has more than 15 FA qualified coaches working with the different age groups.

Money raised at the fun day will go towards purchasing new equipment and improving the club’s training facilities.

The club has been working with the Bailiff Bridge community and Calderdale Council to put together plans for a new clubhouse.

“It will be fantastic because it will provide changing rooms, training facilities and storage space for the kids,” Katrina said.

“It’s bringing us into the 21st century.”
