Remember when we had a great time bringing the beach to Halifax last summer? Well, let’s get together and do it again!

That’s the message from Stewart Robinson, organiser of Halifax By The Sea, which opens at tea-time today at Savile Park and goes on until Sunday evening.

Stewart hopes people will grab their bucket and spade and get down to what promises to be a fun-packed resort, without the need to head to the coast.

With all the entertainments associated with your favourite fun-packed resort such as the Punch and Judy show, a beach, crazy mirrors, seaside sweets, arena events and its very own amusement park, visitors will be able to enjoy some of the greatest thrill rides in Europe such as the Devil Rock - or take a leisurely ride on the dodgems.

“Chill out in a deck chair or relax with an ice-cold drink – Halifax by the Sea has it all,” said Stewart.

The event will feature a huge sand pit, and special entertainment on both Saturday and Sunday.

A showcase arena which will see the Cumberland Giants of television’s It’s A Knockout fame battling it out in their own comedy routine on Saturday, while on Sunday there will be a huge spectacular stunt show including a dare-devil high dive act.

Both days will also see famous characters from children’s film and TV, as well as puppet shows, Punch and Judy and a children’s entertainer.
