A Lurcher dressed as a gangster rapper? A Chihuahua dressed as the Pope? Dogs take to the catwalk in Hebden Bridge

Cool canines will strut their stuff in Hebden Bridge's very own dog fashion show as they vye for the coveted '˜Vivienne Westwoof' award.

From a Lurcher dressed as a gangster rapper to a Chihuahua dressed as the Pope, the couture outfits on show will give the catwalks of London, Paris, Milan and New York a run for their money.

The event, masterminded by dog walkers Catherine Plane and Rachel Jones, will raise money for those affected by the devastating Boxing Day floods.

Catherine, who runs dog walking business Diamond Dogs, said: “I was trying to get my friend to dress her dog up in ridiculous outfits and I thought it would be a good way to raise a bit of cash for the flood relief appeal.

“I think people will be really up for it. My Lurcher is going a gangster rapper - he looks a bit beastly - and I’m going as a Pitbull.

“I know that one Chihuahua is going as the Pope. Well dressed, or simply undressed, canines will strut their stuff.”

The parade promises to be quite a spectacle as people ‘paws’ for thought to see the posh pooches make their way from Hebden Bridge to Hardcastle Crags in their finery.
