A trip to see twin town neighbours

Members of the Brighouse Ludenscheid Society took a trip to see their neighbouring town and take part in the Stadtfest festival.

Nine residents organised a stall in front of the town hall and took the pig race game with them which is popular at the Brighouse Charity Gala.

Stuart Black, of the society, said: “The people of Ludenscheid were thrilled to see this game and enjoyed playing it. Also there were photos on display at the back of the stall showing the exchange visit between Brighouse High School and Stadtische Adolf - Reichwein - Gesamtschule in Ludenscheid. Everyone from Brighouse had an enjoyable time.”

The link between Brighouse and Lüdenscheid was founded as long ago as 1950 by the Brighouse Children’s Theatre which exchanged visits with a similar group in Lüdenscheid. The link was strengthened by the civic twinning charter which was signed in 1960.
