Andy's Man Club - Joining hands in Halifax town centre to say #TogetherStronger

The streets of Halifax will be flooded with Andy's Man Club supporters on Saturday for a special event marking World Suicide Prevention Day.

The #TogetherStronger event, organised by Halifax rugby league player Luke Ambler as part of his drive to get men talking about their mental health, will see people join hands in a human chain around the Woolshops Shopping Centre.

Luke, 26, said the special event will show everyone that the campaign isn’t just online and people are there for one another.

Throughout the day, Andy’s Man Club supporters will be handing out leaflets and selling merchandise.

If you would like to be involved on the day, you are asked to meet at outside Spiral Seven, Crown Street, between 10.30am and 11am.

There will then be a walk through Halifax, ending at the Woolshops, where the ‘human chain’ will be created as everyone joins hands. If you are going - don’t forget to share your pictures with us at [email protected] or via Twitter @HXCourier.

Meanwhile, the #ItsOktoTalk campaign, which Luke started after his brother-in-law took his own life, is going from strength to strength.

The National Suicide Prevention Alliance (NSPA) has partnered up with Luke and is using the campaign for World Suicide Prevention Day.
