The previous festivals have proved to be highly popular and successful, attracting hundreds of visitors from a wide area of Yorkshire and much further afield.

Once again it will be held in the community hall at St John’s Church, off Gooder Lane, on September 18 and 19.

Last year the church benefited by £4,500 and £1,000 of this was for the church’s community hall fund.

As part of the festival’s support for local charities it donated £1,850 between the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, The White Knights Emergency Voluntary Service and Az2B Theatre company.

This year the festival is supporting Parkinson’s UK (support workers) and Working Wonders, an independent charity which provides support for young people and employers to create sustainable apprenticeships in Calderdale. Over the last four years the festival has raised over £22,000 for charities.

Roger Ellis, chairman of the organising committee said: “This is our fifth year and we are planning and hoping for it to be just as successful as our previous festivals. We feel we have got our plans right. Following our previous festivals we have had feed back from our visitors who have indicated that it is a very friendly event, that people are made very welcome and that it is a well run festival.”

“Roger pointed out they had learned a lot from previous festivals, but were working hard to make sure they put into practice all they had learned from previous years so they could continue to go forward and make this fifth festival another huge success.

He said they were very grateful to all their sponsors, both corporate and personal for their tremendous support, adding that a lot of hard work had been put in by a very dedicated team of helpers.

“I would urge people to come along and support us and these very worthwhile charities again. I am sure it will be another very worthwhile event.
