Bonfire Night round up for Calderdale

Crowds come out year on year to enjoy the bonfire and firework displays and this year is no different.

Here is a line up of the fantastic events around the borough:

The Shoulder of Mutton, Shelf, will hold a bonfire and firework extravaganza on November 5, starting at 6pm. Entry is £2 per person, with kids under 10 going free. All proceeds will go towards Movember associated charities.

The New Hobbit Inn, Sowerby Bridge, will host a bonfire and firework display on November 5. The bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm, with fireworks at 7.30pm - admission is £3, entry is free for under 16s and profits will be donated to Overgate Hospice.

On Wednesday November 5, the Moorlands Inn, Ogden, will hold a firework display. Doors will open at 6pm and there will be pie and peas, as well as live bands. Entry fee is £5 or £2.50 for under 12s. Proceeds will go to the NSPCC.

Casa Hotel and Restaurant, Brighouse, will also hold an evening of entertainment on Wednesday. There will be live DJs, a firework display, a laser show and terrace party. The night will begin at 7pm and admission is £5.

On Friday November 7, Long Can Hall, Ovenden, will hold a bonfire and firework display. The bonfire will be lit at 7pm, with pie and peas served throughout the night.

Saturday will also see Northowram Community Sports and Activity Club host an evening of bonfire fun. Ticket price is £2.50 an adult and under 16s go free when accompanied by a paying adult. Admission price on the night is £3 and tickets can be purchased from Northowram Community Sports and Activity Club on Friday’s after 6pm and Sunday’s from 12noon, Northowram School, Shelf School, Salterlee School, Northowram after school club or Towngate store.

The week will be rounded off on Sunday November 9, when Heath RUFC get into the spirit of the occasion. The bar will be open from 4pm and the bonfire will be lit at approximately 7pm.
