Two men approached a property, and on the 94-year-old woman opening the door, asked to do gardening work for money.

The victim declined and one of the men then barged into the house and asked again. The woman repeated she did not want the work carried out and asked the man to leave.

She thought the man had left her house, but discovered him in her bedroom a few minutes later. The suspect fled the property after the woman asked him to leave once again.

Detective Inspector Gary Stephenson, of Calderdale CID, said: “We are conducting enquiries into this incident which was extremely upsetting for the victim and would like to speak to anyone who may have seen two men fitting this description in the Kensington Gardens area just before or after the offence.

“I think many residents will quite rightly be outraged at the behaviour these men displayed towards an elderly and vulnerable victim.”

The suspects were described as in their late 30s to early 40s and were described as slim and about 6ft tall.

One had mousey hair and was in a light blue hooded top and jeans while the other was wearing a yellow coloured T shirt.
