The road is the main A647 route between Halifax and Bradford and plays host to the 576 bus service.

Yorkshire Water earlier said that they were aiming to get the road reopened by the end of the week.

Emily Brady from Yorkshire Water said: “We know this is a key route and that’s why we’ve worked hard to get the road reopened ahead of schedule. We’ve now fully reopened Ford Hill to traffic.

"We’d like to thank everyone for their patience whilst we completed the temporary repair of the sewer and we’ll provide a further update once we’ve planned in the permanent repair work that is needed.”
