Calderdale woman awarded MBE
Chairwoman of the National Association for Voluntary Community Action Caroline Schwaller, of Kirk Lane in Hipperholme, was included in the Queen’s Birthday Honours after years of dedication to the third sector.
Retired voluntary sector worker Carolinew, who lived in Halifax for about 24 years, sees her accolade as a tribute to the profession.

Hide AdCaroline, 63, said: “I think I could say I’m rather dazed. I’m not sure it’s really me! Obviously I’m very flattered.
“I’m proud to be a representative for the third sector and community action.”
